Dance with Ana - Dance Studio, fourth floor email: dance@ps333.org.

The goal of MSC's Dance Program is to provide students with a vehicle for physical expression and a deep appreciation of dance forms through direct physical experiences in a variety of genres. We value diversity (cultural, physical, etc), thoughtful observation and problem-solving, and respectful collaboration as artists. These goals are supported by a sequential curriculum that build on itself and appropriately increases in complexity as students mature. The curriculum begins with creative movement in Kindergarten and 1st Grade, ballet in 2nd grade, comparative folk dance in 3rd grade, and Modern Dance in 4th grade. Students in grades 5-8 may choose to participate in a Dance Elective. A different style of dance is typically offered each quarter for these electives, and often involve collaborations with guest artists as part of a Professional Artist Series that seeks to expose students to careers in dance as well as specialized genres. For more information, please refer to the Dance page on MSC's website, or contact Ana directly at the email above.
