KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION

registration process DESCRIPTION:

  • Bring a photo ID to show security at the lobby. Registration will take place on the 5th floor, Room 516 (Main Office). You will meet with our parent coordinator and our ELL Teacher.

  • The registration process is NOT a tour or classroom visit. You must bring your child and all the required documents listed below. You can download the documents and fill it out at home. We recommend filling out the documents for a quick registration process.

  • If you have already filled out the documents at home, the registration process should only take 5-10 minutes. You and your child will meet with Katy, our English Language Learner Teacher, to take a Home Language Identification Survey. Katy just needs to determine how well he or she understands, speaks, reads, and writes English.

  • If you don't have access to a printer or unable to fill out the documents at home, we will have the documents available during registration. You can take it home to fill out and you can scan the required documents and email THOOVER2@SCHOOLS.NYC.GOV OR you can drop it off at the lobby with security in the building. If you drop it off.

Does your child have an IEP (INDIVIDUALIZED EDUCATION PROGRAM)? If yes, please bring:

  • IEP (If applicable or in process)

  • 504 (If applicable or in process)

For safety reasons, to enter the building, all parents, guardians, or anyone that may be picking up your child are required to have a school issued ID card. Your child does NOT need a photo ID card. To receive your ID card, please email IDCARD@PS333.ORG with the subject "KINDERGARTEN ID FOR 2018-2019" with the following information: your name, your photo (selfie), your child's name.

Frequently asked questions

  1. I would like to tour the school before accepting my offer, is this possible? Our group tours occurred in October, November and December. We do not offer tours after December. We cannot give individual tours as registration time is very busy.

  2. Can we tour or visit the classrooms the day of our registration? No, the registration process is only for filling out the necessary paperwork and meeting with Katy for the language survey. If you have already filled out the forms, the registration process should only take 5-10 minutes. We have many families signed up during the day so we do not have time to give families a tour or visit of the classrooms. 

  3. Do I have to bring my child to registration? Yes, you must bring your child to registration. Every child needs to meet with Katy for 5 minutes to take the Home Language Identification Survey.

  4. My other children attend MSC, do we still need to register in person? Yes, you must register in person. Every child needs to meet with Katy for 5 minutes to take the Home Language Identification Survey. 

  5. Can we have extra time to decide if we are accepting your offer? No, the deadline to register/to let us know if you're accepting or declining the offer is April 26th. There are over 600 families on our waiting list, please let us know immediately. 

  6. We need more information about the school before we decide, can we set up an appointment with someone at your school? No, please understand that registration time is very busy. We try our best to include all information about our school on our website. If you have searched our website and still cannot find any information regarding your inquiry, please email MBANKS5@SCHOOLS.NYC.GOV
