Message from our PTA Co-Presidents
To Our MSC Parents:
As you may know, the 3rd through 8th grade testing will be on the following dates:
April 5, 6, 7
April 13, 14, 15
Please make every effort to be on time to school those days regardless of whether your child is testing or not. Once you drop off your child, please leave the building immediately. There will be no parent meetings allowed on those days.
Please remember that the kids taking the test need our full support at this time, as do our faculty and administration. Let’s come together as a community and make this as easy on all of them as possible by being kind and considerate.
Your help is much appreciated!!

Fixtures in our school building
In February 2011, New York City announced a comprehensive plan to increase the energy efficiency and environmental quality of NYC schools. As part of the plan, the Department of Education (DOE) removed the fluorescent lighting fixtures in our school building and replaced them with new energy efficient units that do not contain polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs). This work will not only ensure a safer learning environment for your children but also will provide significant environmental benefits and energy savings for the City.
PCBs, a manmade substance, were commonly used in electrical equipment and certain building materials from 1950 to 1978. The DOE has identified over 700 school buildings with fluorescent lighting fixtures that may contain PCBs, and has developed a systematic approach to remove and replace them as has already been done in our building.
For more information about the City’s comprehensive plan and its lighting replacement projects, please go tohttp://www.nycsca.org/Community/Programs/EPA-NYC-PCB/Pages/default.aspx.

MSC Special Events 2016
Hey! Spring, what happened? I was so happy watching the daffodils bloom until 40 mph winds and snow showed up. This weather is stressing me out. In fact, I have all this tension in my neck and shoulders because of it. I’m not sleeping. If only there were a way to relieve general stress and promote a good night’s sleep.
