It's Almost Survey Time!
New York City families have great ideas about how to make our schools better. Your chance is coming to share yours!
We will be distributing the Parent Surveys as soon as we receive them. Please look out for the bright green envelope, which will contain the survey with instructions.
If you have any questions, email Maxine at firstname.lastname@example.org
Children's Movie Festival
There are still three weekends left for NY Int'l Children's Film Festival 2016 and tickets are moving quickly! In addition to premiering the best new films for ages 3-18, this year's Festival will include exciting special events, filmmaker Q&As, and audience voting. For every ticket purchased, $3 is donated back to our PTA!
This weekend at the Festival will feature premieres of Phantom Boy (in French with subtitles), a caper set right here in NYC, Adama (in French with subtitles), where a young boy travels from Africa to the battlefields of WWI in search of his brother, and Little Door Gods (in Mandarin with subtitles), a wild adventure story where the spirit world and human world collide.
Plus - don't miss out on the Festival's wildly popular Short Film Programs! With six separate programs featuring inspiring, unique, diverse, and thought-provoking films for all ages, these are definitely not to be missed!
To buy tickets and raise money for our school simply
Go to www.nyicff.org/tickets
Select our school from the “Select My School” Menu (IMPORTANT!!!!)
Voila! Our PA earns $3 of each ticket you purchase!
FREE MICROSOFT OFFICE 365 EDUCATION SOFTWARE
Dear New Yorker,
What an exciting moment!
Today, Schools Chancellor Carmen Fariña and I announced an innovative collaboration with Microsoft Corp. to provide New York City students and families with FREE access to Microsoft software. Starting today, students and their families can download Microsoft’s Office 365 Education software AT ABSOLUTEY NO COST by visiting https://studentoffice.net. (For details on the exact number of downloads and devices that this offer is good for, click here.)
Learning doesn’t stop at the end of the school day. Supplying children with this indispensable tool will help ensure the success of all our students as they prepare for college and the workforce. My thanks to Microsoft and the NYC Department of Education for partnering with the New York City Council to help make this exciting initiative a reality.
