Letter from Claire - September 21

Dear Families,

Thank you to all families who were able to attend curriculum night! It was a wonderful, intimate evening, where everyone had the opportunity to spend quality time with their teachers and other families in their class.  Starting the night with messages, shares and activities set a positive tone for the evening and helped adults to feel welcomed, included and informed. Families were able to get a first-hand snapshot of their child’s experience in school. The responsive classroom approach highlights the importance of the social emotional learning and how academic and social learning are woven together all throughout the school day.

If you were unable to attend curriculum night, please reach out to your classroom teacher for the handouts that were distributed.

Dismissal reminder:

To create a safer dismissal, at 2:55, K students will be picked in the auditorium since they have recess every day until 2:55, 1st and 2nd students will be picked in the classroom. 3rd -5th students will be picked up in the basement gym.   Students are picked up by a family member, babysitter, or after school personnel as stated on their emergency and dismissal forms.  Any K student still waiting to be picked up by 3:00 will be escorted to 516. Any 1st or 2nd grade students still waiting to be picked up by 3:00 will be escorted to basement gym. 

New Late Student Dismissal Procedure

When students are picked up late from the main office in 516, the adult or after school program must sign out on the late pick up form. Virginia, Maxine, or Lorraine will show you where the late pick up sign up book is located.  

We had our first SLT (School Leadership Team) meeting.  We reviewed our minutes from our meeting in June and started to review our Comprehensive Education plan and to plan upcoming SLT events.

Class Parent:

Please sign up to be a class parent.  Contact volunteer coordinator, Amy Shaw at dnashaw2@gmail.com. Multiple roles in each room available! 

ID Cards:

Remember to bring your ID cards! Families can enter the building and swipe or sign in through the front entrance and through the entrance by the auditorium. New families that have taken photos for their ID cards will receive them during the first week of school.  Please continue to sign in at the lobby. If you have not taken a photo, sign in at the lobby and email info@ps333.org with the following information: your name, your photo, your child’s name, class or teacher’s name and your ID will be ready during the second week of school.

September 22nd: PTA Executive Board Meeting @8:45 am in 516

September 23rd: No School, Yom Kippur

September 24th: No School, Ed al-adha

September 28th: Middle School Fire side chat@ 5:00 pm in auditorium

September 29th: Chat with Claire with PTA @ 8:45 am in cafeteria

October 2nd: MSC Half-Day (students are dismissed at 12:00)
