We had a great first week back! It was a smooth transition. I am so happy to be greeting so many of you each morning. Thank you for asking me about my summer, and saying hello. Please have your card ready to swipe when entering the building so we can swiftly start the day.
8:15 AM: SCHOOL MAIN DOORS OPEN: The elevators are in heavy demand during the morning arrival time – particularly by children with special needs that require them to take an elevator to their classroom floor. MSC encourages everyone capable of taking stairs, to do so.
Classroom doors open 8:25AM. Families arriving between 8:15 and 8:25 AM are expected to wait quietly outside the classroom until the teacher opens the door.
To create a safer dismissal, at 2:55, K students will be picked in the auditorium since they have recess every day until 2:55, 1st and 2nd students will be picked in the classroom. 3rd -5th students will be picked up in the basement gym. Students are picked up by a family member, babysitter, or after school personnel as stated on their emergency and dismissal forms. Any K student still waiting to be picked up by 3:00 will be escorted to 516. Any 1st or 2nd grade students still waiting to be picked up by 3:00 will be escorted to basement gym.
Please note: adults picking up students will be allowed in the building at 2:55PM. Classes are in session in the gym and the auditorium (as well as the classrooms) and it is not possible, or safe, to have families waiting in the hallways and other common areas.

During curriculum night, you will meet your teacher(s) and learn about curriculum, Responsive Classroom, Arts, Greenhouse Project and so much more.
Remember to bring your ID cards! Families can enter the building and swipe or sign in through the front entrance and through the entrance by the auditorium. New families that have taken photos for their ID cards will receive them during the first week of school. Please continue to sign in at the lobby. If you have not taken a photo, sign in at the lobby and email firstname.lastname@example.org with the following information: your name, your photo, your child’s name, class or teacher’s name and your ID will be ready during the second week of school.
