MSC Special Events are a unique MSC tradition – workshops, classes, performances, and other adventures created by and for the MSC community. The events raise money for our school while building and celebrating our amazing community!

1. MOM’S NIGHT OUT: COCKTAILS ON THE TERRACE
Celebrate the end of the year out under the stars with champagne, wine, and light bites. Hosted by Mo Shome and her co-hosts, Lauren Koffler andHilary Spinner Jacobs. Join us to meet new people and chat with old friends.

2. LET’S LEARN YIDDISH
It’s no shlep up to 110th Street for this beginner's Yiddish class with professor and MSC 2nd grade dadAdi Mahalel. Treat yourself to this lively discussion about the wonderful world of the Yiddish language and culture. Easy shmeasy!

3. MOTHERHOOD UNDEFINED: A ONE-WOMAN MUSICAL
Get an inside look at how a show takes shape. Stacie Morgain Lewis, first-grade mom and Broadway veteran, offers up the chance to see a presentation of her new work, Motherhood Undefined, a one-woman musical that provides a comic and heartfelt look at parenthood colliding with the life of an actor. See a show in development and offer up your feedback, with food and drink to boot! Hosted by fellow MSC parents Nicole Betancourt and Bray Poor.

4. “ONCE UPON A TIME…” TIME!
Children's Stories and whimsical puppets are brought magically to life by professional actress and 3rd grade mom Julie Harding. Audience participation, lots of laughs, and fun guaranteed! Best suited for kids 3 - 7 years old. Accompanying grownups free!
Saturday, June 14, 11:00 am – 12:00 pm. $20/child.
5. A DAY OF MOUNTAIN BIKING
Discover a new family activity: Mountain Biking! Seize this opportunity to ride with Trips for Kids (TFK), a nonprofit organization led by MSC mom (and PTA president!) Andree Sanders. All the gear is supplied: the bikes, the helmets, the gloves, and a great trail. Challenge yourself and learn new biking skills while having a fun-filled day! The trail is located in Cunningham Park, Queens, and is accessible by public transportation. Adults and children 10 and up. Must be able to ride a bike.

6. MSC DADS UNPLUGGED
Two soulful songwriters (and MSC dads) Marty Toub and Adam Stengel return to present a sumptuous evening of acoustic originals (plus a few popular favorites), accompanied by Lewis Wendellon percussion and Alan Moverman on organ. Have a drink, unwind, and enjoy two concerts at one price on one unforgettable night. Kids welcome – bring the whole family!

7. COME SIGN WITH ME!
SIGN LANGUAGE CLASS FOR BABIES AND CAREGIVERS
Young children can communicate long before they can speak. Sign language gives your child the opportunity to cut down on frustration, express needs and interests, create wonderful bonding moments, and promote language development. In this workshop with MSC mom Deb Grant, you will learn the basic philosophy behind signing, along with a handful of signs you will be able to use immediately with your child.
Date TBA. $25/baby/adult pair. Limit: 10 pairs. Best suited to non-walking children 6 - 12 months old.
