Urban Advantage is a national network of urban science cultural institutions, public schools and public school districts in partnership to improve science teaching and learning in K-12 public education, with an emphasis on middle school, through the implementation of the Urban Advantage program model.

It is a standards- based partnership program designed to improve student understanding of scientific in- quiry through collaboration between urban public school systems and science cultural institutions: Ameri- can Museum of Natural History in partnership with the New York City Department of Education and seven other science cultural institutions in New York City: the Bronx Zoo, the Brooklyn Botanical Garden, the New York Botanical Garden, the New York Hall of Science, the New York Aquarium, the Queens Botanical Garden, and the Staten Island Zoo.
