We’ve had a great response from volunteers offering to serve as class parents. Both new folks and returning have stepped up, and many classes now have at least one volunteer class parent.
However, we don’t yet know of anyone willing to serve as class parent in the following 11 classes, and need someone to step up. Some may already have a class parent that we are unaware of; if so, please let us know.
2nd Grade: Karen
4th Grade: Kristen

5th Grade: Nancy

6th Grade: Alaina & Amy

8th Grade: Stephanie

If possible, attend the first class parent meeting on Monday, September 19th after drop off in the auditorium.
Still considering it? Wondering what is required to be a class parent?
1. Regular communication with your teacher
2. Writing emails to your class regarding classroom needs - supplies, volunteers, snack. Etc.
3. Liaison between MSC Parent Association and your class to share important school news.
Since this volunteer task does not require a lot of time in the school, it's ideal for both working and non-working parents alike.
Ideally, each class will have 2 parents to share the role, one of who should be strong with email, and another who can be around during drop off or pick up to answer question and help with bookroom needs. There is also a need for bookroom and wellness committee liaisons, so plenty of opportunities for all!
Given the great initial response, Monday’s meeting will now be less Class Parents 101 (although we are still happy to answer questions for anyone considering it). Instead, we’ll dive right in with a detailed discussion where we will discuss a draft calendar, offer advice on creating your class list and highlight upcoming events.
First class parent meeting: Monday, September 19th after drop off in the auditorium. All are welcome!
As always, if you have questions, please email us at MSCclassparents@gmail.com.
