The PTA Caring Community is sponsoring our first ever MSC Coat Drive!
From December 14th to the 18th we will be collecting gently worn coats as part of the 27th New York Cares Annual Coat Drive. A collection box will be in the lobby.
Please bring warm winter coats to donate to a New Yorker in need.

SLT (School Leadership Team) November and December Meeting Minutes, FAQs and Contact Information
The SLT November and December meeting minutes are available online. At the meetings we continued our discussion around the Comprehensive Education Plan and how we can support it throughout for the year. We discussed a school-wide survey to facilitate the planning for the January Curriculum Event. We received safety reports on the school and discussed Common Language Guidelines for the professionals in our community. We also discussed the Foreign Language Committee, the Shelly McDonald Workshop and other potential workshops in the new year. Next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, January 6th.

Scholastic Book Fair Still Online through Dec 19 at http://bookfairs.scholastic.com/homepage/msc
The whole school came together for our Scholastic Book Fair last week, and we raised over $2000 for our school! Thanks to everyone who shopped!! You can still shop our Book Fair online for one more week - until Saturday, December 19. You'll find the same amazing selection you saw at our fair in the lobby. If you forgot to contribute books to your child's classroom library, you can get all his or her requests at the online fair. Check it out!
Last week 2-8th graders made hummus with cucumbers in WITS labs with Chef Sara. They learned about the nutritional benefits of beans including protein and fiber and how to make this delicious dip. Attached is the brochure with the hummus recipe and other bean recipes to try!

Middle School: Roads to Success Camping Trip!
Handwork - Winter Session
Madelene and Elizabeth will be starting a winter handwork session on January 7th for six weeks. The focus will be on sewing, and the class will meet on Thursdays from 3:15-5:00.
The class is limited to 10 students in grades 3 - 5. Registration is on a first come first serve basis. Please see Elizabeth in Room 317 for a registration form.
