The whole school came together for our Scholastic Book Fair last week, and we raised over $2000 for our school! Thanks to everyone who shopped!! You can still shop our Book Fair online for one more week - until Saturday, December 19. You'll find the same amazing selection you saw at our fair in the lobby. If you forgot to contribute books to your child's classroom library, you can get all his or her requests at the online fair. Check it out!

Hey everyone,

The PTA Caring Community is sponsoring our first ever MSC Coat Drive!
From December 14th to the 18th we will be collecting  gently worn coats as part of the 27th New York Cares Annual Coat Drive. A collection box will be in the lobby.
Please bring warm winter coats to donate to a New Yorker in need.

MSC Winter Spirit Week 2015

On behalf of the 2015-2016 Student Government, we are pleased to announce the Winter Spirit Week 2015

When: December 14th - 18th

Theme Days:
Monday--Winter Accessory Day
Tuesday--Formal Dress Up Day
Wednesday--Crazy Hair Day
Thursday--Mismatch Day
Friday--School Color Day


Special Events:
Wednesday, 12/16 from 8:30-9:15am "Around the World" Breakfast!  Classes or grades will pick a country to research and create a breakfast around the culinary traditions of that country!

Thursday, 12/17 in the Gym 3:30-4:30pm:
Student versus Staff Basketball Game
Come support the teachers and students in this epic display of athleticism!  For safety, players will be from grades 5-8, interested students will have a permission slip.

Friday, 12/18 during lunches
Student Government Representatives will be serving hot chocolate to grades 3-8 in lunch during 4th and 5th period.

Is your child interested in helping to make our school for eco friendly? Does your child love to make small projects that promote sustainability? Would your gardener enjoy some extra time helping our greenhouse plants? Sign your 2-8 grade student up for an after school Green Team on Wednesdays from 3:00-4:30 in January and February. Pickup in the greenhouse.

Students should demonstrate a passion for learning about and caring for our planet and our school. Participants will need to collaborate on projects to improve recycling, terracycling, and energy use at MSC.

Handwork - Winter Session
 

Madelene and Elizabeth will be starting a winter handwork session on January 7th for six weeks. The focus will be on sewing, and the class will meet on Thursdays from 3:15-5:00. 
 

The class is limited to 10 students in grades 3 - 5. Registration is on a first come first serve basis. Please see Elizabeth in Room 317 for a registration form.
