Letter from Claire - November 9

Dear Families,

Thank you to all families who attended family conferences. We appreciate your partnership in the conversation about your child’s strengths, needs and progress. Each family received a copy of NYC DOE STARS (Student Transcript and Academic Recording System) progress report. Remember that you have access to STARS progress report through your NYC Schools Account.  For assistance in gaining access, contact Maxine at MWitherspoon2@schools.nyc.gov

If you were unable to attend a conference, please schedule a conference with your classroom teacher this week. If you need help scheduling a date, reach out to Maxine for help. Our goal is for all families to have a family conference.

The November 6th Pie tasting and sale was a huge success! The PTA will continue to sell pies, which will be picked up at school during the week of November 23rd. Place your pie orders by November 16th.

From the Classroom

Our fourth grade storytelling troupe are reading and sharing stories about diversity and appreciation. As part of our outreach program, they will be sharing the stories and the highlights of MSC with preschools in the neighborhood.

Great news!!  We were awarded the Arts for English Language Learners and Students with Disabilities Grant. Big shout out to Ana for all her hard work in making this happen!

We had our first 7th and 8th grade dance. It was great to see them our big kids dressed up and dancing. Big shout out to Nicki and student government for organizing, planning the events and Jeff, Mathew, Raphael, Alice, Huay, Brian, Matthew and Darlene for chaperoning.
