PLEASE DONATE CLOTHES & SHOES
NEXT MON, TUES & WED!

Dear MSC families,

Please donate clothes & shoes next MondayTuesday, & Wednesday!

Fall/winter items & shoes are especially needed -- but anything you have that's in good condition will be helpful, from kid to adult sizes.

WHERE & WHEN: Bins wil be in the lobby at morning drop-off, and in the gym at pick-up (3-6pm.)

WHY ARE WE COLLECTING STUFF?
Over the summer, you probably heard about the thousands of kids held in immigration detention centers<http://www.latimes.com/nation/nationnow/la-na-nn-texas-immigrant-children-20140618-story.html#page=1> after crossing the US-Mexico border, fleeing violence in their home countries. There was huge outcry over the conditions of the detention center. In response, the kids are being sent to live with relatives or friends all across the US while their immigration cases are pending.

Large numbers of kids have arrived in the Bronx with literally nothing but the clothes on their backs. Their relatives here are already struggling themselves. The kids are not entitled to any aid until they resolve their immigration status.

Mothers on the Move<https://www.facebook.com/pages/Mothers-On-the-Move/159956477392271> is coordinating basic help. They need EVERYTHING. This week, they located another group of kids who don't even have shoes. Let's give them good stuff!

Thank you!
