Dear WITS Principal, Parent, and Partner,
As the year comes to a rapid end, we wanted to say THANK YOU - for supporting our work this year, for believing in what we do, for learning with us and sharing feedback throughout the process. We value your leadership, partnership and support.
As we all know, making change is slow and tedious, however thanks to you and your support we are making great strides. Our goal is simple: to make healthy food and increased physical activity available to all children. We will continue to work towards this with you as partners, and we believe we can help change the future of children's lives — it certainly takes a village!
We are finishing the school year with WITS Greens Labs. WITS Cooks have been teaching children how to make Balsamic and Honey Mustard Vinaigrettes, along with a Honey Yogurt Dip. Here are a few highlights from students about the dressings:
- "Taste is funny on my tongue, but I like it!"
- "I like spinach and lettuce in yogurt dip."
On June 2nd, we hosted our second annual WITS/SchoolFood Year End Celebration Luncheon at P811M, to thank our SchoolFood partners and WITS staff for another successful year. Many thanks to Chefs Bill Telepan, Charles Rodriguez, and Andy Benette for making a delicious lunch for our team and partners.
