MAY'S EVENTS:

MSC HOOTENANNY! (THIS SUNDAY, May 4, 7:00 pm)

Join MSC piano-playing parent David Shapiro and his wine-and-cheese serving wife Ellen Braitman at their home for an evening of music, drinks, and tasty treats! Let David know the folk, rock, and Broadway tunes you love to sing and they’ll see you at their home (conveniently located around the corner from MSC). $30/pp.

CALLING ON FOLKIE MUSICIANS:

If you play guitar, violin, tambourine or other instrument and would like to participate in the hootenanny, please contact David at dshapiro@kasowitz.com. (Otherwise, no special skills necessary – just come to sing along or enjoy the wine & cheese!)

MSC RUNNING CLUB – TWO TUESDAYS LEFT! (May 6 & 13)

Come out of hibernation by joining MSC’s running club with Beth Berman.  Three Tuesdays in a row, 9 – 10 am, join MSC mom Beth Berman and other MSC runners for a short run in the park, while learning tips on best practices, stretching, training, and more. All levels welcome! $30/pp.

ITAJIME SHIBORI (JAPANESE DYE ART) WORKSHOP (Saturday, May 10, 2:00 – 4:00 pm)

Discover the colorful world of Itajime Shibori—the Japanese art of paper and fabric dyeing. MSC parent and educator Gina Gold leads parents and kids on a magical journey of folding, clamping, and dyeing paper/fabric. Create beautiful designs while learning about the concepts of diffusion and color mixing. Participants will leave the workshop with ideas on how to use Itajime Shibori to create books, cards, lamps, and other items. We suggest parent/child pairings. $25/pp, $45/pair.

YOGA TUNE-UP (Tuesday, May 13, 6:00 – 7:30 pm)

Maxine Roel, MSC mom and owner of Pilates Shop/Yoga Garage, offers this amazing 90-minute workshop.  Uncover what you've always wanted to understand about yoga, basic yogic breathing (pranayama), asana (postures), and mindfulness, so you can walk into a class with further knowledge on how to practice safely. Bring a yoga mat, your questions, and any injuries you are working with. $30/pp. Adults only.

FLORAL DESIGN WORKSHOP (Thursday, May 15, 6:30 – 8:30 pm)

Celebrate spring at this floral-arrangement class. Learn how to make a gorgeous hand-tied bouquet, which is then yours to take home!  Wine and light fare will also be included at this workshop, hosted by 2nd and 3rd grade mom Katrina Parris Pinn of Katrina Parris Flowers. $45/pp.
